Hey guys! I just completed the book "Epic". When I was halfway through this book, I thought the author should have named it something like "Epically Boring" or "The Big Book of Boredom". Unfortunately, as the book came to a close, my opinion didn't change. I have to agree with Ameer on this book; it is way too game-ish and scientific. It was also really hard to get a good mental picture of the setting.
This book is set in the future and is based on another planet because of Earth's destruction. There is this videogame called Epic, that is basically the planet's economy. This game's design allows the players to create their own warrior to fight in big contests between the citizens and Government. The main character, Erik, plays the Epic game day and night to try to destroy the Government's best Warriors. By destroying the warriors, the entire government would fall and he and the citizens could adjust the laws to their liking. With all of the wealth Erik possessed from slaying a dragon, he and his friends now have a good chance to defeat the government of the New Earth.
This is my last glorious blog of the summer. I hope you guys have enjoyed my very memorable blogging . By the way, I do not recommend this book to anybody!Have a good rest of your summer.

The Warrior Heir
Hey guys! I just finshed this book called "The Warrior Heir". This book was pretty hard to get into in the first 150 pages ,but was very interesting throughout the next 500! As I have told you, this book is about wizardry in the present age.If you choose to read this book, be aware that it is Harry-Potter book size!
So, remember how I told you in my last blog about how valuable Warriors were? Well, they are so valuable because of this activity called "The Games". These "Games", are very similar to the Gladiator fights in the Collesium in Rome. The main character, Jack, is a Warrior, and is sold to fight in "The Games". He has to fight in the Games in order to stay alive and to keep his family safe. When I read about the Games, I thought about a man named Henry Brown from the slavery period. This man was sold like Jack and was forced to work with other slaves against his will. Henry eventually got out of slavery by shipping himself in a crate to the Northern Union. Jack also got out of The Games by the mercy of his girlfriend in which he was fighting. After that, they managed to escape from the city in which they had fought.
I recommend this book and would consider buying buy it. If you liked the "Percy Jackson Series", I really recommend this book to you. This book is like a combination of Percy Jackson and wizardry.Read this! Have a good summer!

Hey guys! I have just read half of a book called "The Warrior Heir".In the beginning of this book, it was hard to understand the changes of the plot and not very interesting. Once I read further into this book, it started to become easier to understand the plots and characters. Anyway, this book is about magic-the kind that a wizard would perform.
In this book, the wizards are the most powerful of all the other magical creatures. The other magical creatures and their powers are Enchanters- convince well, Sorcerers-good with potions and poisons, and last of all, Warriors-strength is in physical battle. Warriors are very rare and valuable which happens to be what the main character of the story is-partially. Jack is a very powerful and rare warrior. He is a warrior and wizard mixed together. He is like this because when he was a baby, he was dying and the doctors had to convert him to a warrior and a wizard.
As I mentioned before, Warriors are very valuable to wizards. I think humans are the same way with gold. Humans do not only value gold but things like money and power. Like if a wizard captures a warrior then sells it, he becomes rich, and then once he is rich, he is powerful. I think these things are what nearly everyone values besides their faith and reputation. What do you value? Have a good summer!

DO NOT READ
Hey guys! I just finished a terrible book called Savvy. From just reading the summary of the book I already knew what was going to happen in the story. This was a new topic for me since I normally don't read about kids that have super powers. Savvy is one of those books that takes forever to read and was never had a really exciting part.
Fish and Mibs are the two main characters in the book. My last blog on this book I ended it with Fish and Mibs sneaking on a bus that would hopefully take them to their dad who is in the hospital and is very sick. They end up riding around in the bus for two days having a bunch of boring conversations and flashbacks to their childhood.
Have you ever had to read a book that you did not want to read? I had to read the book "Saavy" because the reading list was not broad enough. After reading the book summary I had a feeling that the book would not be interesting. A suggestion for next year would be to allow students to read two books of their choice and one off of the reading list. I hope "The Warrior Hier" is a good book! I DO NOT RECOMMEND READING THE BOOK "SAAVY".
